A Marvelous Experience!
First day of class and already I feel more confident!
Thanks for today’s wedding ring topper class. I have several of Judy N. patterns and have been intimidated by them. You helped to demystify the pattern. I’m so hopeful now and I feel more confident about these patterns!
Thank You for a Fantastic Week!
Thank you so much for a fantastic week. This is my first time making a JN quilt and Kathy made the whole process understandable and enjoyable. She is an outstanding instructor and I will be taking future classes with her.

Geese in Flight Placemats – Learn Paper-Piecing!
Learn paper piecing in this single three-hour live class. Gain the skills and confidence to tackle more complex Quiltworx wall and bed size paper pieced quilts. In honor of Flag Day and in preparation for the 4th of July, I’ve assembled a special Red, White and Blue themed kit that will make a four placemat set! Here’s the special offer. Buy the kit and sign up for the class before June 1, and I’ll include the class instruction and pattern for FREE!! You pay only for the fabric kit w/ shipping and receive the pattern and online live Zoom class (an additional $35 value) for no additional charge
Kit includes all fabrics for the tops of your placemats as well as the binding for 4 placemats. The geese will be red, blue and multi-color on a white background with the multi-colored fabric as your binding.
The Geese in Flight Placemats pattern is a Quiltworx/Cut Loose Press pattern and it utilizes Quiltworx Charm Elements to create fast, fun, projects and layouts aimed at both the new to paper-piecing quilter maker or those looking to venture out on their own.
In this class you’ll learn:
- How to read a Quiltworx Pattern.
- Trimming and preparing foundation papers and how Template Layout Sheets make fabric cutting prep a breeze!
- The fundamentals of paper piecing.
- A few of my favorite quiltmaking tools!
- The wonders of Quiltworx techniques — like floating points!
In the process you’ll create four great placemats just in time for your summer festivities!
Class Schedule
This class will meet live on Sunday June 13, from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. in your sewing room! via Zoom! But you will have a pre-class video to watch — and a little pre-class prep-work!
This is an online class on the Zoom platform.
Because classes are on the interactive ZOOM platform – there is no packing up. No traffic. No lugging your machine in the rain. No travel. No worrying about social distancing or health risks. You will work from your own sewing room and have all your tools set up the way you like available to you. Unlike typical online classes where you can only watch – with ZOOM you watch, listen, ask questions AND get answers right then and there. Unlike a typical classroom where students huddle around the instructor during demonstrations where you wrangle to get a good view – EVERYONE has the same perfect view. I utilize multiple camera angles as well as PowerPoint and graphics to make sure you have the perfect view to see exactly what you need to see to understand what it is you need to do. From lectures – to cutting to pressing to sewing – you’ll have the perfect view every time. All sessions are recorded so you can go back and revisit them as needed.
Kathy’s No UFO Guarantee
My guarantee to you is that I will be available via email, phone or video chat until your top is complete! If you get stuck or forget what you need to do — I’m here to support you and get you moving forward again.
Purchase your kit and register the for the class below. And do it by June 1 — and save the cost of the class!
