The colorstock rainbow version has 8 colors in five shades! That’s more than 40 fabrics plus the neutrals! Fabric kits can help make the shopping easier, but you’ll still need to have a great understanding of your quilt pattern to successfully cut your fabrics, organize your fabrics, and sew the units to complete this quilt. While any confident, dedicated paper-piecer can complete this quilt, as a “Technique of the Month” pattern, this pattern utilizes the full array of Judy’s techniques. All the options bring the opportunity for a keepsake quilt unique to you, but they also bring complexity to instructions, the cutting and the assembly.  This class will help you ensure that you minimize your frustrations, and optimize your path to a stunningly beautiful quilt!
The Zoom Series will include 6 live sessions and, many unit and technique videos available so you can watch (and rewatch) and sew when it is convenient for you to do so. (I’ve “flipped” some of my instruction, so you can focus on the parts you need the most help with! For a recent series on another pattern, I provide more than 50 unit and technique videos)  Our live sessions will introduce the individual pattern groups, highlight the techniques you will be using, identify any potential trouble spots to be aware of and to answer any and all questions you might have. The unit and technique videos posted between sessions will include cutting fabrics for each group, show you how to assemble each unit and demonstrate techniques specific to your options like the applique. In all you can plan on more than 40 hours of live and recorded instruction, plus access to one-on-one assistance as you need it via email, phone, Facetime and Zoom.
Live Class Dates:
Saturday, January 23 – 10:00 AM — an introduction to the pattern. No sewing — but learn all the ins and outs, understand the options, the papers, the groups, the fabrics and so much more. This is a great opportunity for you to wrap your head around the pattern and all that will be required of you as you plan, shop and sew your quilt. Remember — knowing which option you have chosed will likely mean different fabric requirements and different cutting instructions as well as the use of different templates for cutting. Understanding the options is CRITICAL to your success (and to reduce anxiety and frustration!) Applique components will be sold separately.
Subsequent dates are:
February 13th, March 13th, April 3rd, May 15th and June 12th.
All classes are SATURDAYS and will begin at 10:00 AM CENTRAL.
After that — I’m only an email away for answers and support as needed, until you finish your quilt top. As always — if you take my Zoom Class — I’m there for you until your top is complete — not until the series ends. And the videos will remain accessible long after the live sessions conclude.
