Great foundation for foundation paper piecing!
Experienced Paper-Piecer
I had already done a couple of Judy patterns, so I already knew the paper – piecing process. Nevertheless, I still really enjoyed this class. Everything was OUTSTANDING.

Winter’s Storm Star – a Quiltworx pattern

I will provide links to the recorded introduction with your pattern once you register. The video will explain how to prepare your papers and fabrics in preparation for the class on October 31
You won’t find this beautiful quilt on any store shelf! Using Judy’s Mixer options — I’ve created this for us but it will come with all the things you’ve come to expect from a Quiltworx pattern!
Classes meet on Mondays but are recorded so you can participate when it is convenient for you! And not only the recordings, supplemental videos and documents but my assistance will be there for you from start to finish.
Class meets from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM Central:
- Monday, October 10 (general information session – no sewing)
- Monday, October 31
- Monday, November 14
- Monday, December 5
This quilt is Quiltster Compatible — so design your own or purchase a Quiltster Design Consultation and I will help you put your colors and your fabrics exactly where you want them. Then I’ll provide all the documentation you need to source your fabrics and integrate your fabrics with your pattern directions seemlessly.

Class fee includes pattern as well as all instruction, support documents and videos and access to recorded class for many months after the class concludes.

Fun instructor who teaches to all levels of skill
Just wanted to post a little note. I am very new to sewing and especially quilting. My friend, who lives in Indiana, asked me if I wanted to take a quilting class with her. So I did. Kathy was beyond fantastic. She is a true instructor who understands how not to overwhelm students who are trying to learn a new skill set. It was super fun, relaxing and I learned a lot. There were some very experienced quilters in the class who also learned a lot. I’ve already decided that I’m going to Shipshewana again next year (2025)!
