I was thrilled when I found this class for the Twinkle Star. I wanted to be introduced to Judy Niemeyer paper piecing and this was the perfect way to do it. I thought I was going to have to do it on my own, purchased a Twinkle Star quilt kit over a year ago and hadn’t gotten to it. I will hopefully have time in the future to take more classes! I really like your hybrid teaching concept with great in-person instruction, supplemented with videos shared before and available for review after the retreat. I think that is more of the way the future will look. Many traditional quilters like the in-person sessions, and I understand that. But those of us with jobs and kids and other responsibilities cannot afford to be away for long periods of time. While this was a table topper class, I did purchase a queen size pattern, so it was worth going thru the class versus doing something from videos only.

I am really glad that I got an opportunity to take the Summer Solstice class with Kathy. I have always admired Judy Niemeyer designs but got discouraged when I saw how many pages there were to the instructions for a single quilt.
Kathy was great at taking it in segments and working through the process to make it not seem like such a huge mountain to climb. She incorporates some of her own ideas/techniques that make the process even easier.
You won’t regret taking a class with her!

I had a wonderful time learning how to paper-piece the Quiltworx “Seasonal Table Runner”. Kathy is a seasoned instructor and well versed in the Quiltworx philosophy. She presented many additional tips and tricks of the trade that ensure your ability to remember and persevere on your own after the class. Topics covered in addition to paper piecing: curved piecing, use of glue sticks, design considerations, learning aids, etc. Definitely an instructor for anyone who is a beginner or has had difficulty with paper piecing in the past.
