Your Quiltster class was so much fun!

This class was so much fun. I learned a lot. Thanks Kathy for an excellent session on Quiltster.
Loved making my Fractured Star

I enjoyed the Zoom classes with my guild! I finally got my top done for Fractured Star and now I am contemplating quilting it. Kathy is a great teacher and provides extra help when needed.

Quilting Fundamentals 2022

Are you a beginning quiltmaker? Or maybe you’ve been quilting for years — but are self taught and keep telling yourself – there has to be an easier way to do this! Either way — this class series is for you!
Packed with skills, techniques, tips and more… I’ll take you from start (picking fabrics) to finish (binding!!) and everything in-between.
We will make a number of sampler blocks that you can join together to create a table runner, a wall quilt — or go crazy and make lots of blocks for a bed quilt! With the skills you learn in this series — there won’t be a pattern you will pick up that you won’t know how to approach — and have the skills to give it a go!
You’ll learn all of these skills in this class:
- proper rotary cutting technique

- basic patchwork – 1/4″ seam accuracy
- creating half and quarter square triangles (any size!)
- creating templates
- squaring up blocks
- proper pressing technique
- applique (freezer paper, fusible, reverse, needleturn, machine)
- paper piecing – both Foundation and English!
- complex centers (8 points coming together!)
- Y-Seams / Mitered Corners
- curved piecing
- partial seam technique
- sashing, cornerstones and borders
- piping and flanges
- binding
All patterns will be provided (lots of variety — pick the block(s) you wish to make!) at the end of the course I’ll show you how to assemble your favorite blocks into a keepsake sampler quit. No one else will have one like yours!
All classes will on Tuesdays from 4:00 – 5:30 PM CST (we might occasionally run a little long — we’ll play it by ear!)
March 1, 8, 15, 22, and April 5 and April 12
We’ll give you a little time to sew the number of blocks you want to make, and play with your final layout.
Then we’ll meet one last time on April 26th — for binding and finishing!
Zoom classes are recorded — so if you miss a live session — or wish to re-watch a skill or technique — it’s only a click away!
(and you can review the classes for months after the live classes have ended!)
Don’t Take My Word For It…
A class like this was the door that opened up the world of quilting for me. I wanted to create a similar experience for others. I think I’ve succeeded, read what others have said about this class here and here.
What are you waiting for? Make your 2022 Quilting Resolution about adding to your quiltmaking toolbox and let me help you achieve it.

I Wouldn’t Have Finished Without Your Class!

If it hadn’t been for the class I took with you, I wouldn’t have finished it nor would it have turned out as good as it did! There were so many little tips and tricks I picked up from your class that I feel made all the difference when it came to some of the trickier elements. I made sure to tell anyone who asked I took a class with you and that it was awesome :).
