A wonderful day at Country Stitches-East Lansing spent with some great Michigan quilt makers. Many making their first Quiltworx quilt. Morning apprehension and anxiety dissipating as the day continued. Hopefully by tomorrow evening those emotions will be transforming into confidence and excitement. #dinnerplatedahlia #quiltworx #bobkatquilts ... See MoreSee Less

Beautiful quilts all around, are they all yours? How many people do you need in a class to make it worth your travel? Thinking of getting something locally set up for you.

Most students bring their own sewing machines. But you can always contact the shop to see if they have machines that you can rent. Quilt makers do bring their own sewing tools, rulers, etc.

Where's Kathy from Jamaica? 😁

Do you have to bring your own iron and some machine and everything else?

Tomorrow is Session 1 Day 1 of the Dinner Plate Dahlia series at Country Stitches! I can't wait to see all the different color palettes that students have selected.

If you live in northwest Michigan -- we have another one starting next month. It's not too late to join us!

And in April -- join me in Shipshewana for the start of the series there!!

It continues to amaze me how which colors are chosen and how they are placed can make a single pattern look so very different from one to the next.

But then again -- that's true for all quiltmaking, isn't it?
