Loss of power means no sewing, no computer work, no documents finished and printed.
And worse…. No heat!!

How long will the power be out?
Thankfully you have quilts to keep you warm. We are warm and have power in LH if you all need a place to stay.
Well there’s always paper ppiecing and sashiko.
Woolen and puzzle time! We had a wood stove, generator and propane stove top before our wildfire. I was in panick mode when we were without heat in our little rental in December. Just getting ready to get a hotel when it came back on. Did get a puzzle done though.
Last month my internet went out for a whole day when it was that cold....I was very grateful it was the internet and not the heat.
Hopeful that the power comes back on soon.
I'm absolutely full of the cold, so when we lost power, I just went to bed.
I hope your power is on soon. No heat is the worst.
Time to invest in a whole house generator.
Prayers
So sorry 🙏🏻
We have had 3 power outages here in Lewiston also this morning.
Generator time.
Hopefully you have a gas stove, If you do simmer a large pot of where on the stove, this will help heat your home.
You need a treadle!
Cleaning day!!! Plus, it will keep you warm 🙂
And you guys left Michigan!!!
Wow sorry to hear this and with no heat that’s bad because houses In Texas aren’t insulated like houses in Michigan Brrr Is this a good to grab a book and some quilts and hunker down and read 😊
Prayers for you !
Good thing you have quilts to cuddle under! Stay warm!
I’m looking for some Central Texas Retreat locations!
I’ve had a really great response to the Shipshewana retreat! Now I’d like to find a couple great retreat locations within striking distance of my new home-base of Austin, TX.
I’m looking for a place with a little character, that can accommodate 20+ quilters for 4-6 days. In addition to sleeping rooms we need work space for 20+ work tables plus the the electrical capacity for 20+ sewing machines, Irons, etc.
Not from Central Texas? Would you find Austin / Texas Hill country an attractive destination? Let me know your thoughts!

Most of the retreat centers around Austin are 12 or fewer quilters. I linked the one I am aware of that is larger.
Have you tried church camps??
Have you checked with two chicks quilting
Please help us attend with an airport nearby.
Check the Stage Coach Inn in Salado Texas.
Creations in Kerrville, tx
Quiltagious Quarters in Celeste Texas is excellent and can support 24 quilters. They also have a store. However they maybe too far North
Check Red boot outside of Hillsboro TX. Great accommodations, great food, great employees, Plus a amazing quilt shop!!!!
Try the quilt barn in La Grange they have a retreat location at their shop.
Texas Quilt Barn in La Grange has 9 bedrooms with 30 beds; Two - 4’x3’ desks for ample work space for each crafter (30)
Compass Center NE of Waco. Been awhile since I’ve been there but have always had good accommodations. Also like Red Boot Barn NW of Waco.
It would be GREAT IF there is an airport with an hour distance or less!
The Oaks at Yoakum formerly Three Oaks Retreat House 737-206-2606
Try the Texas Quilt Retreats FB page. There's lots of different venues listed there.
One Quilt Place in Fredricksberg, Texas, is very nice. I do not know what their capacity is.

I'm so excited! There are truly only a few spots left in the Shipshewana Retreat! In beautiful Indiana Amish country!)
Join me and make your Carnival Flower quilt -- or bring the pattern(s) of your choice and just sew away! I'll be there to assist on any pattern as needed. Unlike Zoom -- we have limited physical space -- so if you've been on the fence -- you may soon lose your opportunity! Register today to secure your spot!
We are going to have lots of fun as we do lots of sewing! Each quiltmaker has her own table! So lots of room to "spread out"!
I'm looking forward to spending the week with all of you!
