Poinsettia Workshop – Piecemakers Guild – open to anyone!
December 5, 2020 @ 9:00 am - 12:00 pm EST

Members of the Piecemaker’s Quilt Guild are invited to join me via ZOOM for this workshop where they will create the Poinsettia quilt by Quiltworx.
Class will meet twice:
Saturday, December 5 from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM EST
Saturday, December 12 from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM EST
Registration fee includes instruction, pattern and support until your quilt top is complete.
Upon registration you will receive an email with a link to a video that will help you prepare for the workshop. You will also receive a complete supply list. Supplies may be purchased at a discount using the discount code found on the supply list itself. Fabric requirements will be detailed on the supply list as well — or you can email Kathy about the possibity of purchasing a fabric kit.
The morning of the workshop all students should have their fabrics prepared, tools gathered and pattern papers trimmed and bagged per the Quiltworx 101 video instructions and have their sewing machines ready to sew!

Is this class something that a beginner/ intermediate could do?

Absolutely! I would describe the requirements as confident beginner. We go through the process step by step. The classes are recorded so you can review. I use multiple cameras so you can see me cut, stitch, sew at the machine and press. I walk you through the “trickier” parts of the pattern. And, I’m aiways willing to zoom or facetime with individual students to help them if they get stuck! I have a variety of Poinsettia kits — holiday colors (reds / greens), reds with gray that is very pretty, and blues that would be perfect all winter long.

I live in Oregon, 9am EST is 6AM here in the west. I’m not familiar with Zoom. Are Zoom video saved to they can be watched later?

Yes, You’re correct. We do them “live” and interactive at the advertised time. But we record the classes and you can review them later. Because there is some video conversion involved it sometimes takes 24 – 48 hours before the videos are available to stream. I hope you can join us.

I only have a store online. My studio and my “warehouse” are in my home. While I’ve had some folks pick up orders to save shipping cost or delivery time, I do not have any retail / display space.
