Great class with Kathy Groves

We really didn’t go thru the instruction book. I don’t know if that was a good thing or not. I certainly have had no problem following along now that I’m at home.
Lastly, I would like to know how you organize your instruction book(s). I know a lot of people use highlighters on certain instructions. How do you do it?
Again thank you for a great class. I am looking forward to seeing you again in Shipshewana for future classes.
Fabulous teacher, she really cares about your quilt project

Table Topper Finished! – King size planned!

I finally found all the pieces that were packed away when the hurricane tore the roof off of the sewing room. It got very wet and had a little color bleed- but, that’ll be part of the memory! Once the building rebuild is completed, (slow going due to COVID and wide spread damages supply and demand) I plan to make the king size quilt in same pattern.
Thank you Kathryn Eifert Groves of BobKat Quilts for the ZOOM class!! I didn’t have the knowledge until your class!!

Dresden Neighborhood for the Holidays

Who’s Over My Neighborhood?
Isn’t this a fun holiday quilt? It’s fast, too! And other than the background – you probably have plenty of fabrics in your stash or scrap bin to construct your neighborhood! A fusible appliqué project – it will go faster than you can imagine. And Santa and the reindeer will come with your pattern – pre-fused and pre-cut! I also will have kits available precut / pre-fused (fabrics similar but not exactly matching the image or in your seasonal request). All you will need to add is your background fabric! This is a fun quilt and you could easily adapt it to Halloween or leave the sky blue, add a waving flag and make it a patriotic neighborhood. When you discover how easy these fun quilts are to make – and how quickly they go together… you’ll want to make several for gifts! And they are easy to quilt on your domestic machine – a simple stitch in the ditch around the applique – you’ll be able to finish them without needing the services of a long arm quilter!
BobKat’s Unique Online Courses
Join me and I will teach you everything you need to know – from the minute you register until your quilt top is complete. I’ll be there to support you and answer your questions! We’ll make sure you understand the Zoom platform first. Then if you are new to applique (or even if you are not!) we’ll discuss the steps for creating your own beautiful machine appliqué quilts.
Best Seat in the Room…
Because classes are on the ZOOM platform – there is no packing up. No lugging your machine in the rain, cold or snow. No travel – no hotel bills! You will be in your own bed every night. No worrying about social distancing or health risks. You will work from your own sewing room and have all your tools set up the way you like available to you. You can attend in your jammies with your coffee or Coke right next to your machine where it always sits! Unlike typical online classes where you can only watch – with ZOOM you watch, listen, ask questions AND get answers right then and there. Like the online classes, sessions are recorded so you can revisit them as needed. Unlike a typical classroom where students huddle around the instructor during demonstrations where you try to get a good view – EVERYONE has the same perfect view. I utilize multiple camera angles as well as PowerPoint and graphics to make sure you have the perfect look at exactly what you need to see to understand what it is you need to do. From lectures – to cutting to pressing to sewing – you’ll have the perfect view every time.

If you are a Zoom novice, or if you’re nervous about your equipment or set up, we’ll make sure you understand how it all works before the actual quilting class begins.
Want to participate but you work during the day? Classes are recorded so you can watch them at your convenience – day or night. And I’m always available to answer questions outside of the actual class. An email, text or a quick video chat will get your questions answered! I’ll be here for you!
My Promise to you – I will make myself available between class sessions should you have questions or need a little help along the way! You won’t be stuck and unable to proceed. I’ll only be an email or text message or video chat away.

Her first Paper Piecing Project – WOW!

Thanks Kathy! Couldn’t have done it without you! You are a great teacher. I highly recommend her for your quilting projects.
PS The Quilt is even more beautiful in person!
Courage to Try!

I took a class from Kathy last year. It was the Bali Wedding Star. I made it for my daughter and son in law. On a lark I entered it in our local guilds quilt show. I won viewers choice ! Just wanted to thank you again for being a phenomenal teacher and giving me the courage to take on this project!
