From total beginners to those who want to sharpen their skills or learn new techniques, this is the perfect class for you! I guarantee that you will learn many tips and techniques that will improve your overall quilt making skillset and help advance your quilt making to the next level. (Work totally by hand… or use your sewing machine! Your choice!!!)
Create a 6 block Sampler Lap Quilt and learn all of this in the process:
July 7 – Session 1: Introduction (supplies, rotary cutting), color/fabric choices and general questions
July 14 – Session 2: Basic Piecing including – HST, QST and how to match those points
July 21 – Session 3: Paper piecing and Partial Seams
July 28 – Session 4: Appliqué and curved piecing
Aug 4 – Session 5: Y Seams, Mitered Corners and Complex Centers
Aug 11 – Session 6: Sashing, Standard Borders and Binding
Class sessions will be recorded so that students can review the classes at their leisure if they find it necessary. Each week you will have both a sewing homework assignment and a cutting / prep assignment for the next session – but just for a single block so the time required should be manageable. Weekly instructions and patterns will be emailed so you can print them as you prepare for each class. I will also host “open sewing sessions” where you can log into ZOOM for additional support. Supply list and additional materials provided upon registration.
All BobKat Quilts classes include our no fail guarantee: I will be available to you for questions and support until your quilt top is done! Email, phone calls, face time, Zoom… I’m here to answer questions, fix problems and help you finish your project!
Class fee is $99 and includes all PDF instructions, block patterns and finishing instructions. Classes will be held on the ZOOM platform. Email me at [email protected] if you have questions!
Are you new to Zoom? Zoom is free software that makes it easy to participate in our two way, online classes. All you need is a smart phone, iPad, tablet, or a computer (PC or Mac), and access to the internet. (If you can stream Netflix you can Zoom!) You don’t have to pack up your sewing machine or get in you car to take our classes. Take this course from your sewing room or your sun porch! I’ll even run a special Zoom test session to let you test out your equipment and connection before the classes start so you can focus on quilting, not Zooming!
I attended the Zen Garden class at Yoders in Shipshewana, IN. Kathy was great! Bring her back soon and the Fort Wayne gals will come.
