SUMMARY:Quiltster - Quiltworx Design Software - a Zoom Class
DESCRIPTION:Do you love making Quiltworx quilts — but are overwhelmed at the thought of designing your own?  Getting a headache trying to imagine how it might look if you swap this color or that color and then understanding how to integrate your choices with your pattern?  Calculating how much fabric to buy!  It’s totally overwhelming!!! \nLet’s change that! \nJoin me in this 3 hour Zoom Class where you will learn how to choose your pattern\, add your own fabrics or choose from Judy’s palettes\, place your colors into your quilt\, print the necessary documentation or even use the Marketplace to buy your fabrics and design YOUR quilt!  QUILTSTER is an amazing tool and you’ll have fun designing your quilts and realizing how easy it can be to point-and-click your way to your own personal Quiltworx Quilt!  From standard Quiltworx patterns to creating your own MIXER — you’ll be ready to play (and play and play some more) on Quiltster.  You do NOT need to be a highly-skilled computer user — the software is very user friendly and you’ll be a pro in no time at all. \nYou can join the class and just watch — but I strongly encourage you to register for Quiltster for yourself  so you can work in your own account.  Sign up for just 1 month to get you started and to be able to follow along in class “hands on…”  – the best way to learn.  You can choose to continue your subscription having fun playing with Quiltster Color and Quilt design.  Love it?  You can save $$ by purchasing their annual subscription  ( Note: to have access to the cloud-based Quiltster program\, you need to subscribe directly with Quiltworx / Quiltster.   Again it’s a month to month subscription\, you can drop any time\,  with a discount for a year long subscription.  https://www.quiltster.com/subscribe ) \nQuiltster is cloud based and you can participate on your computer\, tablet or phone.  For class\, you may want to consider using 2 devices — one for Zoom to see what I’m doing and hear what I’m saying — and the larger screened device with Quiltster so you can work at full screen capacity.  If you are using a computer — you may want a good old-fashioned mouse to make placing your fabrics a little easier — not necessary – but helpful.  Chrome is the preferred browser — so if you are on a tablet with Safari as your sole browser — you may want to install Chrome.  It is free. \nI look forward to seeing you in class as we ZOOM our way into our own CUSTOM “Judy” quilts. \nNOTE:  The Coral Reef Quilt will NOT be available in Quiltster until the pattern is released in early 2021.  But  you can learn how to use Quiltster now so you can be ready when it comes online!!!

SUMMARY:Dresden Neighborhood for the Holidays
DESCRIPTION:Who’s Over My Neighborhood?\nIsn’t this a fun holiday quilt? It’s fast\, too! And other than the background – you probably have plenty of fabrics in your stash or scrap bin to construct your neighborhood!  A fusible appliqué project – it will go faster than you can imagine. And Santa and the reindeer will come with your pattern – pre-fused and pre-cut! I also will have kits available  precut / pre-fused (fabrics similar but not exactly matching the image or in your seasonal request). All you will need to add is your background fabric!  This is a fun quilt and you could easily adapt it to Halloween or leave the sky blue\, add a waving flag and make it a patriotic neighborhood.  When you discover how easy these fun quilts are to make – and how quickly they go together… you’ll want to make several for gifts! And they are easy to quilt on your domestic machine – a simple stitch in the ditch around the applique – you’ll be able to finish them without needing the services of a long arm quilter! \nBobKat’s Unique Online Courses\nJoin me and I will teach you everything you need to know – from the minute you register until your quilt top is complete. I’ll be there to support you and answer your questions! We’ll make sure you understand the Zoom platform first. Unlike typical online classes where you can only watch – with ZOOM you watch\, listen\, ask questions AND get answers right then and there. Like the online classes\, sessions are recorded so you can revisit them as needed. Unlike a typical classroom where students huddle around the instructor during demonstrations where you try to get a good view – EVERYONE has the same perfect view. From lectures – to cutting to pressing to sewing – you’ll have the perfect view every time. \nCourse Schedule\nClass Dates are as follows\n\nOptional Using Zoom – Getting set up and ready to go! – email me and we will set up a one-on-one Zoom Intro before the first class!  \nClass #1 – Monday\, October 12   from 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM (CDT)\nClass #2 – Monday\, October 19  from 9:30 AM – 12:00 PM (CDT)\n\nYou’ll receive your supplies list and pattern and everything upon registration. \nIf you are a Zoom novice\, or if you’re nervous about your equipment or set up\,  we’ll make sure you understand how it all works before the actual quilting class begins. \nWant to participate but you work during the day?
