SUMMARY:Shipshewana Spring 2025 - Quiltworx Technique of the Month Retreat
DESCRIPTION:Sorry we are at capacity for Spring 2025! \nWe’re now taking reservations for our Autumn  Shipshewana Retreat –\n October 7 – 12\, 2025!   See the new listing.\nDon’t miss your opportunity to visit Shipshewana in Late Spring 2025 to work on  your Quiltworx Technique of the Month Quilt!  Jungle Magnolia!! You know you’ll want to make it!  Or bring any pattern you wish to sew! \nWe are adding an extra day this year — so we’ll be retreating from Tuesday\, June 3 (start sewing at 10:00 AM) and we will sew until Sunday afternoon (4:00 PM).  THAT IS 6 FULL DAYS OF SEWING!!!   That week is also the week of the nearby Elkhart Quilt Show — so you can sneak away one day to take in the show if you wish!  It’s about a 20 minute drive.  Not to mention a visit to Yoder Department Store\, The Cotton Corner\, Lolly’s\,  Essenhaus Quilt Shop\, Caroline’s\, Zincks and more!  And don’t forget your stop at JoJo’s Pretzels or Ben’s Pretzels!  Yummy is the word of the day! \nAs always — I’ll start the instruction on Zoom in February — and you can join me then and get started or wait until the retreat to get going.  The full Zoom Series is included with your retreat registration!  A $300+ value! \nThe Zoom series is available independently as well.  You can choose RETREAT ONLY or ZOOM ONLY or you can purchase your pattern with your registration (I discount them with registration!) for either the retreat or the Zoom Series.  Since the pattern was released — Certified Shops have been offering KITS — which can include fabric only or fabric with pattern – make sure you don’t purchase 2 patterns!   I can also help you custom design your own colorway using Quiltster if you want your own unique quilt.  Or join me and learn how to use Quiltster to design your own! \nDeposit will be refundable through January 31st\, 2025 less a 4% processing (mostly what is withheld by the payment processor.)   Reserve your hotel rooms independently at The Farmstead Inn or plan to stay at the nearby campground or check out some of the nearby VRBO / B&B options.  There are other hotels a little less pricey you may want to check out.  You do NOT need to stay at the hotel to participate in the Retreat. \nI hope you’ll consider joining me.  With the Zoom support added — this is a GREAT value — 6 days of sewing and the full Zoom Series (and my support from start to finish regardless of your timeline). \n\n \n

My friend\, who lives in Indiana\, asked me if I wanted to take a quilting class with her. So I did. Kathy was beyond fantastic. She is a true instructor who understands how not to overwhelm students who are trying to learn a new skill set. It was super fun\, relaxing and I learned a lot. There were some very experienced quilters in the class who also learned a lot. I’ve already decided that I’m going to Shipshewana again next year (2025)! Thanks for a fun week! Dana ARetreat\, Videos\, In-Person – Great ways to learn!I really like your hybrid teaching concept with great in-person instruction\, supplemented with videos shared before and available for review after the retreat.  I think that is more of the way the future will look.  Many traditional quilters like the in-person sessions\, and I understand that. But those of us with jobs and kids and other responsibilities cannot afford to be away for long periods of time.  While this was a table topper class\,  I did purchase a queen size pattern\, so it was worth going thru the class versus doing something from videos only. SUMMARY:BobKat's Quiltworx Retreat in Shipshewana\, Indiana - Carnival Flower and More!
DESCRIPTION:Join me from April 25 – 29 at The Farmstead Inn in Shipshewana\, Indiana for five days of Quiltworx sewing!   \n\n\n \n\n\nWe’re featuring Carnival Flower\,  the newest technique of the month! You also have the option of working on other Quiltworx patterns.   We will open for set up Tuesday (exact time TBD).  Our Welcome and first instructional session will begin on Tuesday afternoon.    The sewing room will be open from 8:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m Wed through Friday.  On Saturday\,  the Sewing room will be opened from 8 a.m. through 4 p.m.  We’ll have focused instruction  between 9:30 a.m. through 4:30.p.m.  Wed – Friday\, You may have noticed we’re also offering the Carnival Flower as a Zoom class\, beginning January 21.  If you register for the Carnival Flower  at the retreat  — you will also have access to the Zoom Course that begins in January.  All Carnival Flower registrants will have access to the recorded Zoom classes after the retreat concludes. \nWould you rather work on another Quiltworx pattern?  Let me know and I’ll  be happy to help you obtain the pattern of your choice at a 15% discount or you can bring your own.
