SUMMARY:Goodnight Star by Quiltworx - Zoom Class Series

SUMMARY:Twinkle Star - A Great Introduction to Paper Piecing and Quiltworx Patterns
DESCRIPTION:Twinkle Star is a great introductory pattern for learning the Judy Niemeyer approach to paper pieced patterns\, essential paper piecing tools and tips\,  cutting and preparing foundation papers\, fundamental paper piecing processes\, curved piecing\, floating points. and lone star units.  The pattern includes three distinct groups that combine to create a stunning 38″ x 38″ quilt that goes together very quickly.   I’ve taught this pattern in several in-person guild retreats\, to rave reviews\,  because there is so much great learning in a manageable and affordable package!  If you’re looking for an “on-ramp” to the world of Judy Niemeyer and Quiltworx\, it doesn’t get better than this!  No previous paper piecing or quilting experience is necessary! DESCRIPTION:Introduced in 2015 – PARADISE IN BLOOMS – is a favorite of many Quiltworx quilt makers!  This gorgeous quilt can be finished in two sizes:  Wall (76” x 76”) or Queen (97” x 97”).    With a touch of appliqué\, this Technique of the Month quilt will allow you to learn many of those techniques that make Quiltworx patterns special.  And because of those techniques — like all Quiltworx quilts — anyone with the confidence to start — I’ll make sure you can finish! \nThis pattern (at this time) is NOT Quiltster compatible. ☹  But I can work with you to identify the units and fabric ID’s so if you can visualize your quilt – you’ll know exactly what you need in the way of fabrics to make it. From lectures – to cutting to pressing to sewing – you’ll have the perfect view every time. \nCourse Schedule\nBeginning on  the morning of August 28th where we’ll start with an Introduction to the Dinner Plate Dahlia  Quilt.   Tere will be an Introduction to Quiltworx patterns – so whether this is your first “Judy quilt” or  you are an experienced paper piecer\, I’ll review how to “read the pattern”\, understand and prepare your papers\, understand the terminology\, and the tools.  Amd most importantly — understand how Quiltworx patterns make it easy to keep it all organized!!!  You’ll be ready to start growing your Dahlia!  You’ll have a few weeks to get organized\, enjoy the “the end of the summer” and then we will get going… by sewing!   In each session\, I will introduce and demonstrate the techniques you will need to keep sewing\, and progressing on your project between classes.
